Last breakfast at TP

When we got up we decided to grab some breakfast before packing our things. Gayle ordered the French toast with banana syrup. Ok, THIS was good!

Jerry Ann had fruit, toast, juice, and coffee. Sounds simple enough but TRUST me, their dense bread smeared with guava jelly, along with blue mountain coffee, the best orange juice you've ever had, and fruit that is teehee and more vibrant in flavor than any tropical fruit that we can have back home.

Today I asked the cook if she could make Ackee and bacon. I know the national dish is Ackee and salt fish, but that doesn't do it for me. Ackee is actually a fruit that looks like scrambled eggs. It's a fruit that must ripen before being prepared, otherwise it is poisonous and get you sick. You would never know this was a fruit if you weren't already acquainted with it.
Cooked with bacon, onions, and peppers, served with fried plantains and accompanied with traditional jonny cakes, this was GREAT. I'd definately have this again!
