Jerry Ann and Gayle got to see their first fire flies at dinner, which I didn't realize were even in Jamaica. It brought back memories of growing up in the Midwest.

We had shrimp wrapped in plantains. Jerry loved these.

Gayle had shrimp in coconut sauce that was served in a papaya boat. It was pretty good. Of course she had fries with it as any 9 year old would. Again, I'm just glad she isn't ordering chicken fingers, which every place has for kids who want a familiar food while their parents savor the different foods. She is an adventurous eater for a 9 year old.

Jerry Ann had, AGAIN, a great dish. It was snapper in a fruit sauce topped with small chunks of pineapple. While it typically comes with rice and peas, the mention of fries sounded good to Jerry too. Lol

As for me, I too enjoy the snapper here in Jamaica. I had it prepared in a coconut pimento sauce. Pimento is what they call allspice, the prominent spice found in jerk sauce.
